Gustavo Pérez stands alone as the Mexican ceramic artist who is internationally celebrated and admired.
It is not an exaggeration to say that this plate is rare. Gustavo Pérez is the first ceramic artist to be invited into the artist-in-residence program at the Sévres Porcelain Factory in France, where he worked over a three-year period. All of the work he produced there has been sold with the exception of this plate and a few pieces now in Gustavo’s personal collection. Whereas Gustavo usually works in high-fired stoneware, this beautiful plate is porcelain and has his mark and the mark of the Sévres Porcelain Factory on the back.
Shown here is the front and back cover of the tri-lingual book about Gustavo’s work at the Sévres Factory, and the first page of the book. This book will be included with the purchase of the plate.
